RECYCLING POLICY
Prior authorization is required for all items to be recycled.
Because lead-free garments contain “no lead”, these products may be disposed of by regular trash collection, ending up in landfills across the country. This is harmful to our environment, as these garments contain minerals like bismuth, antimony and tin.
Each time a garment is disposed of in a landfill, the metallic elements used to produce a new garment must be mined. Mining is environmentally destructive, and landfill disposal of garments createst the need for additional mining.
In short, landfill disposal is not environmentally sustainable. It is AADCO’s mission to offer an environmentally sustainable alternative to customers in order to reduce waste, preserve our environment, and prevent unnecessary over-mining.
We make this request of our customers – Help us protect the environment by recycling your leaded and no-lead garments! Our recycling program is free, and truly green. AADCO bears all expenses for the disposal of x-ray protective garments when customers utilize our recycling program – it’s free to you, and worth every penny to all of us!
AADCO accepts radiation protection garments for recycling on a one-for-one basis. For each garment submitted for recycling, a purchase order must be placed at the same time for one equivalent new garment.
All recycling authorization requests must be submitted using the designated form and must accompany a purchase order reflecting an equal quantity of replacement garments. For example, a request to recycle five garments must be submitted with a purchase order for five new garments.
