Biological terrorism is no longer the domain of movies and war planners. It is here and now. In fact, a biological attack did occur in United States before 9-11-01. Sickening over 700 people in one American city and overwhelming the local health system. Some people believe that biological terrorism is only a big city issue. For those of you who believe this, consider the fact that both Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, and Theodore Kaczynski, known to most Americans as the Unabomber, ("University bomber") both lived and planned their terrorist attacks from rural communities.

As a radiation professional, or for that matter any healthcare professional, should a radiation event occur it’s too late to receive training.
